Who We Are

A Local Legacy

At KLPZ 1380am, we pride ourselves on delivering authentic content that resonates with the Parker community. We’re locals and it shows! There is something for everyone.

With deep roots in the community, our team works tirelessly to create a platform that listeners can trust and advertisers can rely on.

Keith & Juanita have been a voice of Parker for decades on 1380am. Throughout the years, KLPZ’s flagship morning show has done almost everything. Interviewing artists, blowing stuff up in a microwave to see what happens, experimenting with eating a single food for a week, protecting La Paz County from alien invasion, wagering on the weather, hosting political debates with candidates for office, competing with guests for most marshmallows stuffed in one’s mouth, trying out Taser stun guns in-studio, and the list goes on.

So listen! You never know what you’ll hear.

HISTORY

Our 50 Year Commitment to Parker

1974

A beginning

KLPZ started life at 11 am on September 7th, 1974 as KZUL (‘Kazual’) with a license to broadcast on 1380am. The first song was Dreamweaver by Gary Wright.

1992

A new arrival

Keith Douglas arrived from North Dakota just before Thanksgiving 1992. His freewheeling style resonated with listeners on the station’s morning show, which took off.

2000

Too wild

KLPZ was ‘too wild’ for a traditional format, so Keith bought the station himself, brought his girlfriend to co-host with him, and named the format “Country and a Little More.”
